OFFICIAL STATEMENT & STRONG ADVISORY

Dear Authors,

We have been informed of recent attempts to submit manuscripts to the Medical Journal of Indonesia through unauthorized third parties. These individuals falsely submitted manuscripts under the names of authors using unverified email addresses, and have even presented forged articles formatted in our journal’s in-house style and layout.

We consider this a severe violation. Such actions violate our ethical standards and compromise the integrity of scientific publishing. We are therefore issuing the following clarifications and advisories:

1. Communications Must Be Made Through Official Channels Only

All submissions and communication must be made directly by the authors through our official website: https://mji.ui.ac.id. For any inquiries or notifications, please use our official email: mji@ui.ac.id.

2. Do Not Use Third-Party Submission Services

Under no circumstances should authors employ third-party agencies or individuals to submit manuscripts on their behalf. According to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME), the responsibility for manuscript submission lies solely with the authors, particularly the corresponding author, who must manage direct communication with the journal throughout the submission, peer review, and post-publication processes. Using intermediaries may result in manuscript rejection or permanent blacklisting of the authors involved.

3. Fraudulent Submissions Will Be Removed

Any manuscript submitted through unofficial channels or via unverifiable email addresses will be immediately removed from our system.

4. Clarification on Special Issues

We hereby clarify that the Medical Journal of Indonesia has never published any special issue. Any content or publication under our name and logo outside our official website is unauthorized and fraudulent.

We urge all prospective authors to uphold the highest academic and ethical conduct standards. Protect your academic reputation by submitting responsibly and transparently.

Regards,
Prof. Agus Rizal Hamid, MD, PhD
Editor-in-Chief
